The Great Heron

Fall has arrived, which has given me the opportunity to collect an assortment of magnificently beautiful leaves.  I've discovered that they are the perfect medium to use for color and pattern.  I created an image of a cardinal a few weeks ago and posted it under,  A Skittish Bird, but it was fairly realistic in color.  This time, I decided to draw a stylized heron, using the basic shape but design a whimsical pattern with unrealistic color.

I started with a sketch and began to layer leaves which I'd added to my "mask" library in the Superimpose app.  Background is a photo of lichen on a tree trunk which I transformed to a "sketch" using the Enlight app.
