I just received an order I placed for a teal colored armchair for the family room. I ordered it after I rearranged the furniture a few weeks ago, only to change it back the next day, leading me to the realization that I didn't need to redo the entire room to give it a fresh look- a bit of change was all that was needed! The splash of teal added a lot and now I could use some decorative pillows to accessorize. I looked at the Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel websites to no avail. Then I saw a throw pillow on the Anthropologie website which made me think of some artwork I did for tea towels a few months ago. I created "still life" motifs using a layering technique on the Procreate drawing app on my iPad. I love playing with color and pattern to create unlikely scenarios such as this one with an asymmetrical vase balanced on a slope. It's like fiction in a drawing! I don't know if I will have this design printed on fabric or not but the creative process was great fun!
The beginning stages of layering the design... Recognize the one in the center? I colorized the photo of the smoke tree chunks shown in my last blog and used it for background texture!
