Mosaic Ice & Rocks

Each day as I walk the dogs, I keep my eyes open for the beauty to be found within the dormancy of the winter season.  Last week, a residual of the recent snow storm caught my eye.  Ice sheets along our path were melting and breaking apart.  I thought it incredible how such a beautiful design was created.  I took several photos and later showed them to John who agreed the design was amazing and added that the reason for the pattern was that the carbon atoms connect and create planes.  The ice crystals form diamond shapes because of the bonding of the atoms....  Here lies the difference between he and I- yes, the reason is fascinating, but it's enough for me for revel in the beauty!

These rocks, so alive, so full of energy, attracted me, as the surrounding snow was melting...
